Lake Laach

13.000 years ago this lake was not existent. To this time the hell was on earth here. A volcanic eruption took place here with an huge impact for middle Europe. And there are still volcanic activities in the area. Some small earthquakes happen from time to time and on some places around the lake gases escape the inner earth. But it's not a regular volcanic lake. The correct designation is caldera lake which means that there is no typical volcano mountain where you find often lakes. This lake developed after the outbreak because the earth sagged in so a basin arise and through the years it was filled with water. The name of this lake is Lake Laach between Koblenz and Bonn. Today I did a walk around the lake and of course I took a lot of photos. Today I show you photos from our last trip. On this day we didn't walk the round so there was just a short relax trip. I will work on the photos from today and I show it definitely later in an extra blog post.
